A Message from Lee, our events co-ordinator
Events results The 9-a-side Football Championships were cancelled due to bad weather conditions. Skylarks was held on the 2nd October at Beenham Youth Club, West Berkshire. Teams of four were tested physically and mentally, using their map reading and problem solving skills. The winners of the event were Beenham C, second was Maidenhead Athletic Club and third was Cox Green B. Congratulations to all the teams who took part and thank you to all those who helped make the day run smoothly. New County Director The current Director, Ray Tapken, is retiring on the 31st December 1999. David Seward has been appointed and will start on the 1st December. For the first month he will shadow Ray to try to learn a thing or two. David is currently working as the Youth and Community worker at Kennet Y & C Centre. Fitness workouts Would you be interested in having a team come to your Club to run a fitness session for 2 - 3 hours. It does not matter if your members are absolute beginners or professionals, the sessions would meet everyone's needs. If you are interested contact Lee. Only available to groups affiliated to BAYP. T-shirts We have 20 + blue t-shirts with a small logo on them. A mixture of small, medium and large sizes. These would be ideal for messy art sessions, a sporting team etc. If you are interested contact Lee. Only available to groups affiliated to BAYP. Events coming soon Regional Staff Conference at The Moat House Hotel, Chepstow on the weekend of 16-17 October. A pratical weekend for Club Workers and Volunteers aged 16+. 5-a-side for Un 16 Boys on 30th October at Reading Activities Centre. The competition will also be used as trials for the County Gillette Cup Team. SuperDance on the 6th November at Charters School. A Dance competition where teams can choose their own theme. The competition has two age groups Un 13 & Un 19, each age group has two sections pairs and teams (4~10 in a team). SuperTeams on the 20th November at Reading Activities Centre. Teams of four are challenged physically and mentally through out the day. There are two age groups over 10 but Under 14 and over 14 but Under 18. Cross Country on the 28th November at The Mary Hare School, Newbury. This is open to age groups Un 11, 13, 15 and Un 17, boys and girls. There are two catergories specialist and non - specialist. A specialist is anyone who has been a member of an Athletic Club 3 months before the competition. If you would like information on any of the above contact Lee. |
