He serves on the Education and Arts select committee; a Local Planning Group for health issues; a safety Task force; a special needs group and an independent sector placement group. He sits on a working group dealing with children with special needs, and a Children and Families steering group. Dave came into local government in 2000 when he was elected to Adur District and became Chairman of the Leisure and Amenities committee. A police officer for 30 years Dave retired as a Superintendent in charge of the Hove and Shoreham Division. He was heavily involved with Brighton & Hove Albion and has since become the Safety Officer at Withdean. The Football Association asked him to work with them as a Crowd Control Advisor, a role which takes him all over Europe and UK. Married to Lyn with 3 children, they recently became grandparents. Prior to becoming and greatly enjoying his role as a County Councillor, Clive was Treasurer and Deputy Chairman to his local Conservative Association. Clive strongly believes that this country should not lose its sovereignty and should be part of Europe but not be run by Europe. For many years he was a Partner in a major firm of Chartered Accountants. His role covers being a member of the Education and Planning Committees and being a Policy Adviser to the Cabinet Member for the Fire Brigade. In Adur, Clive chairs the Urban Transport Forum and the Adur Outdoor Activities Centre, whilst also being involved with the Citizens Advice Bureau, Adur Local Strategic Partnership, Shoreham Harbour Maritime Transport Study and as a School Governor. When he gets some spare time Clive enjoys Travelling, Reading, Theatre, Cinema and watching England Rugby. #TOP |
