David Dewdney
6 Balliol Close, Pound Hill, Crawley, Pound Hill West Sussex, RH10 3TE Phone: 01293 882211 david.dewdney@westsussex.gov.uk David Dewdney has been a County Councillor since 1989 and has been Chairman of the Highways Committee, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Community Services and is a school governor. Currently Chairman of the WSCC Conservative Group and Member of the Local Government Association. At the LGA he strives to make the rational views of a mixed rural and urban economy heard and to interpret Government policy for the benefit of West Sussex residents. Locally supports the development of Gatwick as a first class airport but works to mitigate the adverse impacts including pollution and congestion. In partnership with schools and police is active in attempting to improve the educational and behavioural standards of local youngsters. David has lived in the area all of his life, is married with four children and five grandchildren. #top |
Henry Smith

In addition he is Chairman of the Learning Difficulties Partnership Board and a Maidenbower School Governor. Henry read philosophy at London University, is now a property finance director and married to Jennifer, who works for the NHS. His interests include family, vexillology, cartography, philosophy, history, water and snow sports. He has been elected as Leader designate of the Council from September 2003. #top |
