He is Chairman of the Rights of Way Committee, dealing with footpaths and bridle ways. Formally a Surrey County Councillor, parish councillor and chairman of his village residents association. Brought up in London, he has a Maths degree from Oxford University. His career was in atomic physics, operations research and finance, mostly in the bread and scaffolding industries. He worked in the USA for three years during the Vietnam war. Bill is a Governor of Imberhorne School. He and his wife Marion have three children and he enjoys bridge, walking and sailing. #top |

John Oliver is married to Rosalie
and has twin daughters at University. He has lived in Sussex
all his life and in the Hurstpierpoint area for the past 30 years.
His interests include swimming, music and walking. After a career
in banking and subsequent retirement, he has served five years as
a Manager of the British Red Cross Centre (Brighton and Hove) and now
manages the Hove Society for the Disabled. For 10 years he was the Chairman
and a founder member of the National Association of Rail Passengers.
In these roles he achieved considerable expertise in representing, at
a national level, the views and concerns of commuters, people in crisis
