This Spring & early
Summer seems to have been a lot calmer than last and and we have had, and are
still getting, some good pollack and excellent catches of cod. Cod to 15lb were caught over the weekend
of 20th & 21st June and an unexpected bonus on
Sunday 29th was a fish of a lifetime brill of 10lb 2oz, caught on
a sidewinder by Steve Howell of Bristol.
Steve was fishing with Kevin Bridson’s Hotpot angling group who have a
booking every month and welcome new anglers to join the party. Numbers of bass are increasing as the
summer comes on and traditionally July sees really good catches of this
sporting fish. Don’t forget to keep

The only weekend
dates I now have available, and these are for FULL BOAT
BOOKINGS ONLY, are Saturday 7th
November and Saturday 19th
December. Midweek dates in June are
also filling up fast as it is a good month for bass. I have also posted some 2009 weekend dates
where there is individual availability on the ‘Individuals’ page so
have a look at these and book early to avoid disappointment.
£450 PER DAY - £45 PER PERSON FOR INDIVIDUALS
For anyone who is viewing this site for the first time
and wonders who I am and what I do I hope the website answers your questions
but, if not, please email me or give me a ring. I specialise in fishing wrecks in Lyme Bay and the English
Channel for pollack, bass and cod. I
have almost 40 years experience as a charter skipper and I will do my best to give you a good
day’s fishing. Please be assured also that I am not
in the business of going out in bad weather just to get your money. If I feel conditions are such that I can’t
give you a good days fishing I just won’t go and this meant a lot of lost
trips last year as the weather was, to say the least, dreadful.
(I have found
recently that some emails don’t seem to get through so if you do email &
don’t get a reply within a few hours please telephone to be on the safe
side. I am also having a few
technical problems updating the website so if it is more than a couple of
days since it was last updated, again, give me a ring as dates &
availability change all the time)
INDIVIDUAL
ANGLERS: There is
no extra charge for individual places - £45 per person or £450 for the boat
for a maximum of 10 anglers. Remember, Blue Thunder works seven
days a week, weather permitting, and I take individuals any day midweek
subject to availability. Visit the individuals page on this website for
a list of vacant places, updated regularly.
If no date there suits you then contact me and I will start another
off for you. Don’t worry if you are on
your own or new to sea or wreck fishing, you will be made very welcome and I
will help you and show you exactly what to do.
If you are
an individual angler who wants a trip on a Saturday or Sunday then I have
three organisers who book on a regular basis and who are sometimes looking for
new anglers to make up the party (you don’t have to commit to going every
