Updated : 4th September 2008
I hope to welcome you
aboard in 2008. Don’t forget to keep
an eye regularly on the ‘Individuals’ page of this website for individual
vacancies and if you want to book a place or book the whole boat for your
party give me a call on 01392 875001.
I am now booking for 2009 and already dates with the best tides are
being taken. Book early to avoid
disappointment.
PRICES with effect
from 1st May 2008 –
£450 PER DAY - £45 FOR INDIVIDUALS
I was hoping to avoid a price increase in 2008 and keep my
prices the same as they were in 2006 and 2007. Unfortunately, mooring and fuel costs have increased
tremendously and it is with regret that as from 1st May 2008 I
will have to charge £450 for a full boat charter and £45 for an individual
place. The price of diesel has
increased from 38p a litre this time last year to 64p a litre currently. In addition my mooring fees have increased
by almost 20% in the last three years.
I wouldn’t mind but it’s not me who is getting the extra money!
The bass seem to be around in
good numbers and over the past weeks, when the weather has allowed me to get
out, I have had some excellent
catches, many good fish around the 5-8lb mark, best so far 14.5lb, plenty of
double figure pollack and a few cod with them as well. Best cod to date is 16lb, not too bad from
an ‘inshore’ mark. Four anglers from
the building trade on a corporate trip on July 1st had a cracking
day on the pollack, the best one being 18lb.
Again proving what I have always maintained, you don’t have to travel
miles & lose fishing time to get among good fish.
I will do my best to give you a
good day’s fishing. Please be assured also that I am not
in the business of going out in bad weather just to get your money. If I feel conditions are such that I can’t
give you a good days fishing I just won’t go and that has meant a lot of lost
trips this year as the weather has been, to say the least, dreadful.
Weekend
dates are going fast. I only have Sunday 9th & Saturday 29th
November & Sunday 7th December remaining but you can book now
for 2009 and hopefully still get the date of your choice.
(I have found recently that some emails don’t seem to get
through so if you do email & don’t get a reply within a few hours please
telephone to be on the safe side. I
am also having a few technical problems updating the website so if it is more
than a couple of days since it was last updated, again, give me a ring as
dates & availability change all the time)
INDIVIDUAL
ANGLERS: There is
no extra charge for individual places - £45 per person or £450 for the boat
for a maximum of 10 anglers. Remember, Blue Thunder works seven
days a week, weather permitting, and I take individuals any day midweek
subject to availability. Visit the individuals page on this website for
a list of vacant places, updated on an almost daily basis. If no date there suits you then contact
me and I will start another off for you.
Don’t
worry if you are on your own or new to sea or wreck fishing, you will be made
very welcome and I will help you and show you exactly what to do.
If you are
an individual angler who wants a trip on a Saturday or Sunday then I have
three organisers who book on a regular basis and who are sometimes looking
for new anglers to make up the party (you don’t have to commit to going every
time). Give Barry Attwater - 01398
331737 (Saturday trips), Andrew Howard - 01647 61452 or Kevin Bridson – 01837
810472 (Sunday trips) a call and they will be pleased to give you all the
details.
CORPORATE BOOKINGS: Why not book a corporate trip
to entertain your clients and staff?
If you are fed up with paintballing, golf or a day at the races try a
day on Blue Thunder. At just
£450 to charter the boat for a full day this offers great value for money AND
your guests can take home and eat what they catch at the end of the day
GIFT VOUCHERS: If you are
stuck for a gift idea, why not purchase one of our VOUCHERS as a present for
someone special? Please ring or email
for details.
