Welfare - Bengals In need Of Rehoming
and Retired Breeding Bengals
As the number of Bengals in the UK continues to grow, like all breeds of cat (both pedigree and non pedigree) circumstances can arise where re-homing of cats may become necessary. The Bengal Cat Club Of Great Britain is committed to the welfare of the breed and as a result of this welfare work we occasionally have cats in need of new caring and loving homes. If you feel you would like to offer a new home to a Bengal please refer to the list of cats below then contact the number listed or for further advice - Anne Randall (welfare). Quite often we receive many enquiries for rehomed Bengals - If there are none listed then please keep returning as we list cats available for rehoming as soon as possible after we receive them. If you have a Bengal for rehoming (or ex breeding Bengal in need of a new home) e-mail the details to us at Peter@kittens.org.uk If you need advice regarding rehoming or more urgent welfare issues relating to a Bengal(s) please Tel. Anne Randall 0118 9733021 or e-mail Mike and Anne Randall llandarbengals@btinternet.com
(For international rescued Bengals try http://www.geocities.com/bengalrescue/regions.html) for other rescues try www.rescuedb.com
Fortunately most cats are rehomed very quickly so this list will be automatically cleared monthly, if a cat has not been rehomed by the 6th of each month please resubmit all details and photos etc for the following month. Thank you.
HI,
I am writing this mail to ask for help and i am getting desperate. I live
in the north east but am willing to travel, and have two cats. One of my
cats (Joules - a bengal) has always had a little issue with using a litter tray
even though we have plenty in the house. He is very spoilt and thinks he
is a baby bless. In February, my sister - in - law came to stay for a few
nights (he knows her well) and he went a bit batty. He began weeing in, or
trying to, anywhere he could and there was blood in his wee. The vet
diagnosed it as cystitis and said it was stress related. This was the only
change in our lives. he recovered but about a week ago my baby niece and
family visited just for a few hours and he did it again. I am 3 months
pregnant and as well as the hygiene and baby issue i am worried that a new
addition would really make him ill.
He is a fantastic cat , very affectionate and loving, doesn't scratch and it
breaks my heart but we need to rehome him. We are very aware though of how
difficult this could be given the problems he has and we don't want to be
dishonest with anyone. Also, i know many rehoming centers prefer to only
take strays or cats bought form a rescue center. Our only other option is
the dreaded visit to the vets. I have all the pedegree papers and am
desperate for him to go to a good home for free.
We also have a black moggy called max who apart from having crystals and needing
medicated food, has no other issues. They have been together since they
were babies and are now 4 and if possible we would like to rehome them together,
although Joules is the priority.
Many Thanks
