Welfare - Bengals In need Of Rehoming

and Retired Breeding Bengals

As the number of Bengals in the UK continues to grow, like all breeds of cat (both pedigree and non pedigree) circumstances can arise where re-homing of cats may become necessary. The Bengal Cat Club Of Great Britain is committed to the welfare of the breed and as a result of this welfare work we occasionally have cats in need of new caring and loving homes.  If you feel you would like to offer a new home to a Bengal please refer to the list of cats below then contact the number listed or for further advice - Anne Randall llandarbengals@btinternet.com (welfare). Quite often we receive many enquiries for rehomed Bengals - If there are none listed then please keep returning as we list cats available for rehoming as soon as possible after we receive them. If you have a Bengal for rehoming (or ex breeding Bengal in need of a new home) e-mail the details to us at Peter@kittens.org.uk

(For international rescued Bengals try http://www.geocities.com/bengalrescue/regions.html) for other rescues try www.rescuedb.com

Fortunately most cats are rehomed very quickly so this list will be automatically cleared monthly, if a cat has not been rehomed by the 6th of each month please resubmit all details and photos etc for the following month. Thank you.

We have a problem with Ming,  our 8 year old snow bengal and we sadly need to find him a new home. He needs a home where he is the only cat. We have a multi cat household and for the last two years Ming has been bullying two of the other cats. We have tried all sorts of things, with the help of our vet,  to help with the behaviour problems, from games and cuddles, to several litter trays and feeding stations to a variety of anti stress drugs or pheromones. However, nothing stops him picking on the others when he feels in a bad mood. Plus he has developed a problem with occasional diarrhoea which we manage by feeding him only fish proteins. After a lot of investigation the vet has said he is healthy,  and that his problem is caused by stress. He suggested that both Ming and the other cats would be better off if we could find Ming a single cat home where he'd get all the human attention. He is a very affectionate cat with humans, he likes a cuddle.

So it's with a heavy heart that we are looking for a new loving home for him. He's 8 years old, a snow with blue eyes.. I have photos of him. Can you help us? We live in Central London

Chataya Ariel DoB May 2008

Ariel is a stunning black spotted/rosetted girl. Retired breeding queen. She has a super personality; very affectionate, chatty and adores human companionship. We would be looking for an indoor only home with no other cats and, if children, not youngsters and where she will not be left alone for too many hours a day. She is current on her vaccinations(booster due August 2010), spayed, microchipped and HCM tested negative March 2009. Nominal Fee

Sadly due to a house move to rented accommodation, we are unable to take our beautiful Bengal. (Snow spotted neutered male) His name is Mia (Amir) and he is 6 years old, he has all of the usual quirks of Bengals, so someone with experience of these beautiful animals would be suited. He has never been outside only in a pen attached to our house and we would prefer that he be in a similar situation.

This has been a very upsetting decision for us so I would ask only for someone who is a serious Bengal lover to take him on as they can be feisty creatures at times, I have all his documents and he has been fully vaccinated.

I look forward to hearing from you and hope that you can help us with this difficult situation.

Destiny is 8 years old and has had a tough 12 months, she was knocked over last September which left her with only one eye and slight loss of memory. Destiny's memory only seems to be affected if she goes out, she does not have a clue where she is, so for this reason she has to be kept indoors.
. Unfortunately due to personal reasons I am now living with family, Destiny cannot stay with me because my aunt already has two elderly cats and Destiny does not get on with other cats and is living in a cattery until she can be rehomed. I hate to think she is in a cattery after all she has been through and I know she needs a home where she can be the only cat, someone at home most of the time because she just wants to be around people and will need to stay in unless there is a outside safe run.

Juniper is from my breeding programme and she is a lovely silver girl. SHe is just over one year old and now retired. She is looking for a quiet home where she can go out to play. She is fully vaccinated and has all her registration documents. She can be a shy girl but is very playful.
Please contact me if  you can give this little girl a loving permanent home.

Paw Paw and Remy (mother and daughter) are two beautiful ex-breeding bengals in need of a loving, permanent home in a semi-rural/rural location without children or other pets. Both are very much a part of the family and have adapted well to living in a home environment but find the attentions of our two young children extremely stressful and are constantly trying to escape onto the busy road outside our house. We are desperate for them to find a special home with someone with experience of bengals and their unusual ways (like spashing in the bath!). Please contact me for more information/photos: sarah.stephen-smith@hotmail.co.uk or 07843 063 589 Location: Stamford, Lincs
