I first heard John McCormack, when, as a small boy, I was privileged
to listen to him on my uncle's horn gramophone. He was singing "The snowy breasted pearl". It was to
be the start of a love affair that has lasted to this day.
It also engendered in me, a love of gramophones, and I amassed a collection of over seventy machines. After many
years of endeavour, I managed to locate one of only two copies extant of the elusive film "Song O' My Heart",
which McCormack made in 1929, and for which he was paid half a million dollars (in those days!). It cost me my
entire collection, but was worth it to own this historic document!.
I started collecting again, and now have some 65 machines..
