In just a little over two hundred years, The United States of America, in some ways a forerunner for the developing soul of humanity, has become a major world power. And yet, the United States of America, as any courageous observer of current events realizes, is in deep trouble on many fronts. Our vaunted democracy is having major problems in feeding, housing, clothing, employing, educating, and providing medical care for untold millions of American citizens. We are even losing children and adults to gang wars and gun fights every day. All of these problems are going to be magnified an untold factor by the coming y2k computer problem.

The United States of America is not unique in this situation. It is obvious to anyone who looks out on the world scene that, world wide, humanity today is in the throes of agony. The situation is very much like that faced by an individual where the moment of greatest development is the moment of greatest pain.

The solution to these problems, both local and global, is love. Much more than some warm fuzzy stuff that makes you feel good, love is an energy of great power. Love is the energy that gives the individual the wisdom to see the appropriate solutions to specific problems, that enables people to see the real issues, the real needs and then to build the bridge to that which will meet these needs. Love, perhaps more than anything else, galvanizes courage. Love enables, even goads the individual to rush to the aid of others. Love overcomes selfishness, cruelty and greed and the separative sense that generates the fear that drives these monsters.

Love will make the world bloom and the people of the world prosper.

The goal of the Los Angeles Heart Project is to cause a great world wide inflow of love, to cause a tidal wave of love to sweep over humanity in every country, city town, hamlet on the planet. Los Angeles, The City of Angels, is considered by many people on the planet to be the heart center of The United States of America. Here, in our own city of Los Angeles we will start what we hope will become a world wide tidal wave of love by causing the heart center of our great city to open wide to a new inflow of the love and light of God. We plan to cause this miracle to occur, starting in Los Angeles, by holding a coordinated series of public heart meditations in various parts of our city. We are encouraging all caring people everywhere to think about opening the heart centers of your own cities and towns, of your own people because, as we know, every heart has a direct link to the Cosmic Heart. Our plan could be a model for others to follow, but there is no one or right way to invoke love, and we hope that people will plan heart meditations or prayer meetings or do any of a number of things that would call on the angels and open the hearts of our fellow men. Where the heart is pure and the motives are selfless, you can be sure that the response will be awesome.
