Other Projects

There are a number of smaller projects which are run by Bromley Mencap, or which are supported by Bromley Mencap.

These include

and others..

Resource room and library

The resource room is at our offices. We have a large number of books, videos and leaflets which are available for our members to borrow. We also have a copy of a welfare benefits program which can help when trying to make sense of the complexities of the benefits system

Keep Fit with Mencap

This is a group run by volunteers, and supported by the Society. It's what it says it is - a keep fit class for adults with a learning disability. It runs during term times and is well attended. Great fun is had by all.

Coffee mornings

These are an opportunity for parents and carers to get together and talk about life.  It's amazing how much it can help to chat with someone with similar problems.  Sometimes there are guest speakers, sometimes just an opportunity to chat.

Footsteps - a dance and movement class for children.

This group was started by a small group of parents with help from Bromley Mencap.  It meets on a school night and offers the children an opportunity to experience dance and movement in a friendly atmosphere.  The children have a great time, and the parents can enjoy an hour's peace and quiet, or have a chat and a cuppa with others.
