Crete

We had always wanted to go to the Greek Islands in order to get away from dreary London. After scouring through various newspapers and magazines for specials, we found a deal that appealed to us. The prices were cheaper when we went because it was after the summer peak season had ended and was just before the semi-peak of the (British & German) school half-term breaks.
The package holiday included flight and self-catering accommodation and came to a little over £210 each. We felt that this was such a good deal that we asked around to see if anyone wanted to join us.
When we arrived on the island of Crete at about 2 in the morning, we were pleasantly surprised to see that we were being picked up in Mercedes Benzs! We wondered if these were their standard taxis!
