The Report

Although Grampian & Cairngorm assessors do not set any minimum requirement for a report, we do expect it be obvious that anything submitted has had some effort put into its production.  Normally the report will be written however oral presentation, slide show, DVD video, drama or collage are all equally acceptable  Each report will be judged on its relativity to the group who submitted it and the level of Award they are working on. Generally a written report should contain:

· Route Cards, maps, kit list and menu

· A photograph of the group.

· Description of venture from a personal rather than technical point of view. Telling us you walked up the hill is nothing we don’t already know from your route card!

· Logical reporting of the aim including, pre-expedition preparation, data collection, analysis, post expedition research and conclusion.

Do make good use of technology like PC’s and digital cameras to  produce a modern interesting report that the group can feel proud of. Remember that the report is the only permanent record of what you did on your expedition. Including all the funny things that happened and the daft things everyone did will make the report far more interesting for others to read and for you to look back on. If doing an oral report consider getting it recorded then transferred to DVD so you can keep a copy.
