Recordings were made of the band in all of its incarnations, and it is my aim eventually to include every one of those recordings on this site. However, some material is proving to be rather elusive, so please bear with me and call back from time to time.

Jon Franks

The earliest Capitalist Music recording is of the band supporting the Soft Boys at UEA's Fifers Lane in 1979: the recording of this performance is now available as a CD (surprisingly entitled "Live"). Get in touch if you'd like a copy of the disc, alternatively, you can download all of the tracks in MP3 format.

Matt Sargent

The band's only commercially released tracks are to be found on the LP "Norwich: A Fine City". The songs are: "Jane's gone to France" and "Do you really love that girl?". Completists might like to note that Capitalist Music contributed half the members of the Mohair Twins, who also appeared on this album.

Further recordings followed, both demos and finished takes. Tracks included reworkings of some of the band's older material, such as "SPG", and new songs including the excellent "Jill and the Cruise Missiles" and "I want to be seduced by you". Sadly, this superb music never reached its intended audience.
