| Stepping Out is a service that enables people to take part in community based leisure and social activities and develop friendships. S.O.L.I. (Stepping Out Leisure Information) is a contact point for members & others to get information about leisure facilities in the community. S.O.L.I. also advises on how social facilities in Bristol can become more welcoming. | |

| There are forty "Public Access Points" provided by Bristol City Council with more to follow. They are in libraries and community centres. S.O.L.I. is accessible on all of them. S.O.L.I. is made up of interviews which have been done by Stepping Out volunteers. Anyone interested in S.O.L.I. can leave a message on the website (an e-memo) and we will contact you with a view to adding your venue to S.O.L.I. | |
As well as S.O.L.I. Stepping Out also provides:-
The Leisure Groups: The Groups meet in the evenings. All members can attend. The groups go out and about on social activities. They also talk together about what they want from their lives and from Stepping Out Training & Support Programs: Each program lasts for two years and is a focussed service to individuals. The Programs provide-A Social Skills Training Course. Helping members to gain social skills and a chance to talk about their feelings. Personal support workers help members build networks of support and develop community based leisure and friendship opportunities. |
