Polovragi Cave (July 2003)

Impressive entrance to this cave, nice passage but limited stal, except in noted "Candlesticks Gallery"

Impressive show cave, well worth a visit. Beware of some very small passage at end of trip, where if in caving attire it would be easier to crawl. So why did i wrear white trousers.

Nice spot with good view, just wish we had listened to the guide telling us the exit was no where near the entrance and a map and compass would be handy to get back!

Swifts were flying about the entrance which was a long way down.

A fragment cave above the main cave.

Cerna River, Fragment Cave.

A few fragment caves found in a gorge where the tarmac road leaves the Cerna river. Continuing up this forestry road gets you up to the watershed.

Signposted off of the Brasov/ Pitesti road (route 73). Unfortunately could not get the hire car anywhere near.
