This is a picture of a full size
(0.75l / 26 2/3fl.oz.) bottle that I picked up in France. It is an export bottle at a strength of 26.2 volume In general I do not collect large bottles but it complimented my range of Gordon's Cocktail mixers in miniature - see the next picture. (Click image for larger picture) |

I have 7 different Gordon's Cocktail
mixers - Bronx, Dry Martini, Fifty-fifty, Gimlet, Martini
(sweet), Perfect and Piccadilly. Variations exist with declared strength (usually 46 proof) and again without any indication (see picture opposite). The contents of each cocktail vary - see next item. (Click image for larger picture) |

I came across this
small (10cm x 7cm) Gordon's recipe book for Cocktails in
a second hand book shop and had to have it - again to
compliment my Gordon's Cocktail Miniatures. I have reproduced some of the pages for your interest here including the recipes for Sweet Martini and Fifty-fifty cocktails (the contents of the bottles pictured above). The recipe book used to be owned by a steward on British European Airways (BEA) in 1958 - they must have mixed cocktails in-flight! (Click image for larger picture) |
