For movement and plotting purposes, the use of the colour map included in the main Rules Compendium is all that is required. Through this the group of players (or if applicable the GM if one has been delegated) can keep track of which systems are Neutral and which systems are owned. each hyperspace link between systems will have a certain time period in which hyperspace traffic travels from "A" to "B" (for example it may take 5 turn rounds to travel from Centauri Prime to Raghesh -the amount of movement per round could be done in grid squares, hexes or even centimetres and is entirely dependant upon how you want to plot things out)
