The names of needy children from the various communities are put forward by
their local pastor. They may be true orphans with neither parent living, or they
may be in need because the death of one parent has left the other unable to
manage the family. Sometimes the problem arises because, following the death of
one parent, there has been a remarriage and the child is sadly rejected by the
step-parent. Whatever the reason, the children share a similar plight. They will
be withdrawn from schooling, placed in some form of menial work and thereby
trapped forever in poverty.
In the Children's Home they will have proper food, shelter and clothing,
attend school and, of course, church. Most importantly they will be raised in a
Christian atmosphere. The carers who work in the home are all believers, and are
committed to sharing their faith practically with the children.
