By God's grace, and the generosity of people in the UK, money was raised to
buy 2.5 acres of land in a pleasant area, on which to erect a home and school.
Good progress has been made on the building work and there is now sufficient
accommodation for the 200 children already being cared for. Further construction
is planned, however, to give space for yet more children and better facilities
for their education.
Most of the 200 boys and girls are sponsored by individuals, churches, or
Sunday Schools mainly from the UK but the remainder still await sponsorship. To
avoid disappointment to supporters in the UK, children spend a few months in the
home to ensure they will settle before they are linked with a sponsor. However,
in spite of this arrangement there are just a few occasions when a distant
relative insists that a child leaves the home to live with them in order to be a
bread winner. The Mission is powerless to prevent this.
