The youngest toddler is a couple of weeks old and they come until they begin school. They are accompanied by a variety of mums, dads, grandparents and child minders! We have a large selection of toys available – sit on trucks and cars; dolls & pushchairs, slides; train set; cars; jigsaws; animals; books; dressing up clothes; baby toys, Playdough™ & Duplo™ to name a few. Each week we tell the children a bible story (some times we have a guest speaker) and do related craft activities. These have included sticking, painting, baking and growing seeds. In recent months we have looked at stories along an animal theme and we are now looking at colours. There is also an opportunity to sing some of the toddler’s favourite songs. Around the middle of the morning we have squash and a snack (tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits for the grown-ups). Throughout the year we try to organise a number of extra events, which have included an evening meal (without the toddlers), and a number of trips including to a local working farm and Arctic Jungle. The morning takes a very relaxed approach and gives the children chance to run round and have fun with their friends as well as learning the bible stories whilst the adults have opportunities to chat. There is a small charge for the morning (to allow us to buy new toys from time to time, craft materials and so on).
