Welcome to our home page. We meet at the Wote Street Club in central Basingstoke - usually at 7.45pm for 8pm on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.

Visiting and home-grown speakers present illustrated talks on all aspects of railways, both in Britain and abroad. Recent speakers have included distinguished railway historians Dr. Edwin Course and Colin G. Maggs MBE (who received his award for services to railway history). Countries covered in the recent talks have ranged from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.

As well as the regular talks, every year the Society organises trips to sites of railway interest, both in Britain and abroad.

The society has been active for over a quarter of a century and welcomes new members and visitors. Members all receive a regular newsletter, issued at meetings or delivered by mail to those unable to attend meetings.
