1. To have fun collecting clocks
2. To have a chance, only a chance mind, that you might make a profit
3. To pay only peanuts for your acquisitions
then read these tips and pay a visit to 20th Century Clocks
or, if you have a special interest, try one of these:
Synchronous clocks
Vintage Clockwork
Battery Clocks
Alternatively, if you are prepared to spend a lot of money for each clock you acquire
then go for clocks which are already regarded as being collectable.
1. Visit Barrie's Clock Museum where you will find descriptions and pictures of many collectable clocks several of which are from my own collection and are now for sale.
Included in the Museum are sections on:
Electric clocks including Master Clocks
Wall Clocks
Table and Shelf clocks
Clocks for sale including a fine Bracket clock, a Ship's clock from the Royal navy and many other interesting items.
2. Buy "Collectable Clocks", a book by Alan and Rita Shenton. It is a mine of information about almost all types of clock, with pictures and values (kept up to date by an update system).
No connection with me, I just find it invaluable
3. Visit Clock dealers, Specialist Clock Auction Sales and top notch Antique Dealers.
