Conrad Harpham started playing the guitar at the age of 15.  In just five years he had started to teach, and had received acclaim for his first demo project “Planet X” from a national music magazine, which compared his playing to Joe Satriani.

Over the next few years Conrad developed a fluid bluesy rock style, incorporating influences from Randy Rhoads, to Satriani and Richie Kotzen.

In 2000 Conrad played in the grand final of “Jam 2000” at Birmingham NEC, where he traded chops with the monstrous Jamie Humphries (Guitar Techniques), whilst coming in the top 5 out of 15 national finalists.

Conrad has received national acclaim for his playing from the likes of Yamaha and Korg UK and is now regarded as one of the most technically competent players in the South West of England.  Roland UK recently described Conrad’s playing as “overwhelming.”

Conrad is a busy teacher and performer in the South West of England, and in 2005 completed his fifth recorded CD, a compilation entitled “Reflections”, described by Cross Rhythms Magazine as an “incredible showcase of masterful guitar playing.”

In 2006, Conrad joined forces with awesome bass player Face, and drummer Darren Crome, and has been performing live at various venues across the South West.  Conrad is one of the only players in the country able to play right and left handed guitars simultaneously, and recently won the prestigious “Outstanding musician” award at the Devon Battle of the Bands competition.

In 2008 Conrad entered the Guitar Idol international competition with his tune “The Return of Dr T”.  Watch this space for more news soon!
