What is a Local Action Team and what do they do?
As part of the North Somerset Community Safety programme, various Local Action Teams have been set up in the towns and villages. It has been shown that people living and working in an area are best able to identify the problems that cause the most concern. The teams look at issues affecting their local community and by working together see how these can be resolved.
What organisations are involved?
Local Action Teams are made up of people from the local community - for example the Coronation LAT has members from the police, district council, local businesses, neighbourhood watch, schools and local residents.
Where is the Coronation estate?
Situated in the Southern end of the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, the Coronation estate lies between the Oldmixon area and the village of Uphill and is easily accessed from the A370 and M5. It is approximately 1 mile from the town centre.
