All meetings of The Friends of Court Hey Park are held in the Friend's meeting room at 1.30 pm on the first monday of the month in the Old Stable Block at the Knowsley Office Buildings, Court Hey Park, Roby Road L16 3NA.

January:

7th: Monday: Friends Meeting

21st Monday: 7.00 - 9.00pm *GARDEN BIRDS*

February

4th: Monday: Friends Meeting

24th: 1-3.pm *HOME TWEET HOME*
Get back to nature and learn how to make natural bird boxes with the Rangers. A great opportunity to try something new and with expert guidance to cater for all levels of skill.

18th: 1-3.pm *EASTER EGG HUNT*
Using a map, some wit, and your skills of navigation (no GPS allowed!) find the clues and solve the Great Easter Egg Puzzle. A satisfying surprise will be waiting for the fearless adventurers up to the challenge.

20th: 10.am-12.pm *BLOWING IN THE WIND*
Have you ever fancied making your very own flying kites?
Well this activity is aimed at teaching children young and old the basics of creating your own kite.

31st: 1 - 3.pm *GLADSTONE HISTORY TALK*
Come along and join the Friends of court hey park for a unique talk about Robertson Gladstone and our Gladstone Roots Project. View our slideshow / DVD and artifacts from the archaeological dig. Bookings only on 0151 443 3682.

June

2nd: Monday: Friends Meeting

8th: Sunday: 11am - 5.pm *KNOWSLEY GREEN FAYRE*
This event has become a well-loved annual family day out in the North West. For more information on the Green Fayre.

2008 promises to be bigger and better than ever before with a big top solar powered cinema and farmers market. There will be an even bigger range of craft and food stalls, eco activities, arts and entertainment including live music, circus show and loads of environmental information and advice. We will also be showcasing the work of schools and families who have been collaborating with artists and environmentalists to create local films, science and technology competitions and taking part in eco-early years workshops.

The event forms part of the Capital of Culture celebrations and is organised by Knowsley Council in partnership with The National Wildflower Centre and Liverpool Culture Company. Free Park and Ride Service from Huyton Town Centre.

Knowsley Green Fayre is supported by Liverpool Culture Company as part of the 2008 European Capital of Culture programme.


14th: Saturday 1-3.pm *BOWLS TASTER DAY*
Compete against your friends and family, or just have a go yourself. Crown Green Bowling is a fantastic and easy sport for young and old. All equipment supplied.

July

7th: Monday: Friends Meeting

22nd: 1-3.pm *ORIENTEERING*
Try your hand at orienteering, get your map, your compass (again no GPS allowed.!) and find those clues in the park using your powers of observation" Prizes for those who complete the course!.

August

4th: Monday: Friends Meeting

10th: SUNDAY 11.am - 5.pm *Knowsley Flower Show*
The 10th Knowsley Flower Show will once again be staged at Court Hey Park - home of the National Wildflower Centre. With 15,000 visitors last year, the show is affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society and is the largest free horticultural show in the North West. 3rd: Monday: Friends Meeting

26th: 1-3.pm SUNDAY *CONKER COMPETITION*
Try your hand at this age old game. Prizes for age categories. All conkers will supplied by the Rangers. (no cheating then!) Please arrive by 1.pm for registration.

November

3rd: Monday: Friends Meeting

15th: 1-3.pm SUNDAY *FEED THE BIRDS*
Help keep our feathered friends full and happy over the coming winter months. All bird feeding materials will be provided.

December

1st: Monday: Friends Meeting

7th: 12 -4.pm SUNDAY *WINTER CELEBRATION*
This annual event will be the usual lovely seasonal mix of craft stalls, entertainment, environmental workshops and visits from Father Christmas. Bring the family for a free afternoon out and do a little Christmas shopping while they enjoy the workshops. There's plenty for children to do and adults can make fresh seasonal door wreaths and table decorations.
