The 10th Knowsley Flower Show will once again be staged
at Court Hey Park - home of the National
Wildflower Centre. With 15,000 visitors last year, the show is affiliated
to the Royal Horticultural Society
and is the largest free horticultural show in the North West.
The
show offers budding gardeners and novices the opportunity to enter over
100 classes with a chance to win some fantastic prizes. The Large Floral
and Plant Society Marquees are always a blaze of colour and there is a host
of other attractions including Hawkeye
Falconry and Dog Displays. There is the added attraction of
the Youth Arts Friendship Field, with live music, dance
and craft activities or you could try to master some Circus skills? With
lots of plant sellers and growers giving advice and helpful tips, Gardeners
Question Time and lots more; it's a great day out for the whole family.
So put the date in your diary and join in on a fun-packed day. On-site parking
is limited, but there is a free bus service from Huyton town centre bus
station and Bowring Park Golf Course.
YOUTH ARTS FRIENDSHIP FIELD
The Youth Arts Friendship Field (YAFF) is a relatively new edition to the fantastic Knowsley Flower Show. The YAFF is an area designated for young people to celebrate and explore a multitude of imaginative are forms. It is an exciting opportunity for young people to express themselves in the magically decorated zone, with opportunities to make your own artistic masterpiece, sing out loud, chill out under the trees and much much more!
The theme is love, peace and friendship and essentially about celebrating difference. It's a Glastonbury-like experience and not to be missed!
Over 100 young people will perform at the event including dance groups, bands and solo artists.

FRIENDS OF COURT HEY PARK
The Friends will have a display of historical artifacts from the Gladstone Roots Project for you to examine. Also available will be our 'The History of court hey park' book at only £5.
