SUNDAY
8th of June 2008. 11.am - 5.pm
The Knowsley Green Fayre was once again staged at
the National Wildflower Centre, court hey park.
This
year's event formed part of the Capital of Culture celebrations
and was organised by Knowsley Council
in partnership with The National Wildflower
Centre and Liverpool Culture Company.
The event featured a big top solar powered cinema and farmers market, craft
and food stalls, eco activities, arts and entertainment including live music,
a circus show and environmental information and advice. The event showcased
the work of schools and families who had been collaborating with artists
and environmentalists to create local films, science and technology competitions
and take part in eco-early years workshops.

Urban
Strawberry Lunch.
Main NWC Courtyard.
These musicians had lots of people involved during the day, bashing on plastic
'drums' in tune to some of their music tracks. Urban Strawberry Lunch were
formed in 1987. They began making music on anything they could find after
all of their musical instruments were destroyed in a fire at their rehearsal
rooms. Watch our video of the event with backing music from U.S.L.
here. USL on the web.

sowing wildflower seed, walks to enjoy and identify plants, seed collection,
volunteering to work with plants, visits to other nature sites, and joining
some of the National Wildflower Centre's environmental activities. More
