MAKING BIRD FEEDERS
A Knowsley Greenspace Rangers Event

The event starts at 1.pm.
Please come along and take part in a workshop to make bird feeders for our local bird population to help them through the winter months. Please call 0151 443 3682 for more details

National Wildflower Centre

The centre is still open for conferences and meetings.
Although the award winning demonstration areas and visitor centre are now closed for the winter, there are still a few things going on!

The Cornflower Cafe is open Mon to Fri. 10.am - 4.pm and offers delicious hot and cold meals, snacks and refreshments.

October: 26th-30th. Half Term Activities.
November: Fri 13th. Family Supper Night.
December: 6th Winter Celebration.

KNOWSLEY FLOWER SHOW
The eleventh Knowsley Flower Show took place this year on Sunday 9th August 2009, at Court Hey Park. Attracting 18,000 people, the Show was free and had something for everyone.The show is one of the largest free horticultural events in the North West and has something for everyone, with the floral marquee, garden trade stands with plants and garden furniture for sale.

There were also falconry displays, dog obedience displays in the main arena, live music and bands as well as the huge craft marquee and lots of entertainment for all the family.

GLADSTONE AND COURT HEY PARK HISTORY DVD #1
Local Schoolchildren were able to watch our history DVD and examine artifacts from the 2007 archaeological dig on Friday the 19th June.
They were then taken to see the Gladstone Roots site.


Updates to the history section of this site will be made later this year following substantial historical research. I have more pictures and information to place on the site when I get the time (exams etc). If you have any suggestions regarding the web site then please let me know. email

GLADSTONE ROOTS TALKS
Saturday 25th April and Friday 1st May
The Friends of court hey park provided a insight into this substantial archaeological project, revealing fascinating facts about the many discoveries on site. With a Power point presentation and display of artefacts from the dig in 2007.
