CSSC North Fylde Area Clubs
The Sports Ground
At North Fylde the Area Council is closely associated with the Departmental Association Hassra. Hassra maintain and administer the sports ground provided by the DWP a decade ago.
Because Hassra pay out a substantial amount for the ground each year - on wages and materials the Area assists with an annual financial contribution.
Users of the grounds can be subscribing CSSC members or subscribing associate members i.e. family and friends.
Members should be aware that league fixtures take priority and that some facilities are allocated exclusively to affiliated clubs at certain periods of the season.
Generally speaking the bowling green is available during weekdays but not evenings when league matches take place.
The tennis courts are available until 6pm in the evening weekdays and up to 1pm on Saturday and Sundays when club play commences.
The hard surface all-weather area, suitable for five-a-side and netball is available for hire at £10 per hour at all times
The tennis courts and all-weather are floodlight (at no extra charge)
There are a number of sporting clubs affiliated to the Area and who benefit from financial assistance and the provision of facilities.
Many use the sports ground administered by Hassra, the sports and social organisation attached to the Dept for Work and Pensions
The sports ground is located close to 'Four Lane Ends' at Thornton Cleveleys
The ground includes a football pitch, large cricket square, bowling green, three tennis courts and an all-weather area for five-a-side football and netball
The Norcross & Warbreck Football Club
The football club has been in existence for over 50 years and plays from the Hassra sports ground. With two teams in the West Lancashire league the club play almost every weekend during the season.
In the 2000 - 2001 season the reserve team were runners-up in division one.
Membership is open to CSSC members who are also willing to be members of Hassra either as DWP staff members of non-staff associate members. The additional costs if £13.56 a year

Norcross Bowling Club
This is another well established club which plays from the Hassra Sports Ground. It has a large number of teams in local leagues such as the Welcome and Thornton Cleveleys and they take part in a number of cup games. A relatively new venture is a team in the local over 55's league on a Monday afternoon. The club enjoys the facilities provided by by the area including its own substantial bowling pavilion.

Norcross Cricket Club
This well established club plays from the Hassra sports ground where the excellent facilities provide space for weekly matches, practices and nets. The club has three teams one of which is a junior team, playing in the Palace Shield league.
They have use of a substantial pavilion, covers, nets and facilities normally associated with a quality club.

Norcross Lawn Tennis Club
With over 50 years existence the club boats a lot of experience. Its numerous competuitive teams play in the local league but there is still ample opportunity for casual & knock-about play plus social occasions. The club boats of excellent coaching for juniors and for senior members with, in 2002, LTA assisted coaching for the youngsters
The club plays from the Hassra sports ground where there are three hard courts and a brand new (June 2002) substantial pavilion

Fylde Golf Society
This club has recently affiliated to the Area despite it being a long established unit. The club hosts a number of outings each year sharing transport and the enjoyment of the game.
President's and Captain's days augment a fairly full diary of events and a new venture for the club is short weekends at more distant courses.
