Angling

There are a number of regional competitions including sea, coarse and fly fishing

There is also a Hassra Angling society which welcomes CSSC members prepared to pay the Hassra subscription of £13.56 in addition to the Angling society fee.

The angling society has a number of local waters including a stretch of the River Wyre at St Michaels and a 1.5 acre lake in the Beacon Fell area of Wyre.

Badminton

Fylde is blessed with a number of excellent players all of whom are willing to give advice. The CSSC has a local competition in late winter when all standards are invited to play. Selected members are then invited to the CSSC national competition.

Quality players can be selected for representative matches against other government departments and organisations

Bowls (Crown Green and Flat)

The Area supports participation in the CSSC Crown Green Team Knockout competition with, at present, three regular teams each year.

There is also support for two teams in the winter flat green season.

There is a regional flat green competition which attracts financial support.

Athletics

There are numerous opportunities for athletes of all standards.

The CSSC organises an annual track & field day and there are events for Road Relay, Cross Country, Walking, Veterans etc both at local level and national level. North Fylde consistently field a large squad of 'all comers; in the regional competition where the less experiences are supported by established athletes

Quality athletes may be invited to represent CSSC in competition against other departments.

Hassra has a well respected and flourishing club for members who are willing to subscribe to Hassra (£!3.56) in addition to the club subscription

There are numerous opportunities for lovers of this sport.

There are also three cricket clubs associated with the Area/Hassra and these cater knock-about, through evening league to Palace Shield cricket.
