This sermon is an account of the childhood conversion of James Laing who was born on 28 July 1828 and fell asleep in Christ on 11 June 1842 after a long illness. The title of the sermon is taken from "My beloved is gone down into His garden to gather lilies." - Song of Songs 6.2

Finding the sermon "Another Lily Gathered" led me to discover that it was posted on-line by the Bible Presbyterian Church.

The Westminster Presbyterian is the website of the North American presbytery of the Free Church of Scotland (Continuing). It has rich theological archives in the Westminster tradition, which include M'Cheyne's sermon on John 14:6, "Christ the Way, the Truth and the Life", a succinct explanation of the Gospel.   Additions - the sermon "God in Christ Reconciling the World" based on 1 Corinthians 5:19, and "This Do in Remembrance of Me" his sermon on Holy Communion.  "The Cry for Revival" has also been added in two parts.  A further addition is "The Inward Experience of Believers", a sermon based on Romans 7:22-25.

This web-site was begun by Sean Richardson when he lived in Alabama (he moved to Tennessee in 2001).   It had some good coverage on several famous Scottish preachers; Thomas Boston, Samuel Rutherford and Dr John Kennedy being listed along with M'Cheyne. It included "Vessels of Wrath", which was the last sermon M'Cheyne preached before his life on earth ended.  It also included M'Cheyne's sermon "Thanksgiving Obtains The Spirit". This was preached at St Peter's on the first Sabbath after his return from Palestine, Nov 24, 1839.

This new site posted by Alan Newble effectively replaces the one above, and was made with the active encouragement of Sean Richardson.
However, as yet, it does not have the M'Cheyne material which was on his site.   It links back to my site.

A link from Scottish Preachers leads to an online version of M'Cheyne's calendar for daily Bible readings, posted by Mount Zion Chapel Library - Reading Room. Both Spurgeon & Lloyd-Jones recommended this scheme for reading through the OT once and NT & Psalms twice each year.

Max Randall is pastor of a church in Williamstown, Kentucky. His Christian links page contains some of M'Cheyne's sermons.  Sermon titles are "CHRIST'S LOVE TO THE CHURCH", "FAMILY GOVERNMENT" , "THE RIGHT IMPROVEMENT OF AFFLICTION" and "THE TIME IS SHORT".

David Ash is the pastor of  Shiloh Baptist Church in Gainesville, GA. The on-line library includes two sermons by M'Cheyne, "Christ's Love to the Church" and "Will ye also go away?".  It also includes "BETHANY: THE SICKNESS, DEATH AND RESURRECTION OF LAZARUS", a series of seven sermons by Robert Murray M'Cheyne for the Comfort of the believer in Sickness and Death.   There are many more good articles by other authors.
These files are in Portable Document Format Pdf_icon.png (153 bytes) (PDF), for which you need Acrobat Reader™ to view them.
This program can be freely downloaded from the Adobe Systems Incorporated web site.

For those without Acrobat Reader™, I found that all seven Bethany sermons are also available for viewing as HTML files by ordinary web-browsers. These are found on the web-site of Sovereign Grace Articles. This excellent site administered by Ron Thompson contains a wealth of Reformed material by several other authors, past & present.  Highly recommended.
