Ashuri
Native to the mid rim world of Ashur <View System> the Ashuri peoples evolved from planes dwelling hunter bipeds. Physically they resemble Human children with disproportional long legs end in a two-toed split hoof. Despite their long legs the Ashuri stand about the same height as an average Human. Facial features are sharp and angular with hair growing from the crown of the head and down the back of the neck. Traditional hair styles are usually tied back or arranged into a mohawk.

Ashuri history dates back millennia, charting the slow change from the plains hunter through to the development of agriculture and rise of the religion and ideology. The great rock formations were here held to be plateaus half way between the world of the Ashuri peoples and the divinity of the gods in the heavens. Initially these escarpments were reserved for religious buildings, but as time went on and the Ashuri mastered technology and the cities grew up taking there place.

About 3000 years ago the Ashuri achieved space travel and shortly after become members of the Republic. The Ashuri have always striven to protect their world, supporting the Republic strongly through the many crisis that it has seen, yet remaining quiet almost retreating into obscurity during less turbulent times. Some xenologists have tried to claim that this behaviour is consistent with Ashuri psychology and hunting philosophy, remain hidden until the prey comes close then act quickly, decisively.
