North Staffs Branch ended the season with the handing over of the chain of office from the past chairman Mr Mike Gould to newly elected chairman Mr Mathew Pound.

The new season started with an excellent social gathering of 25 members and guests attending a very enjoyable meal on board the Rutherfords restaurant a luxury canal boat named the Margaret, based at the Star Inn Lock, Stone. The Margaret caste off at 8pm on the 3rd September for a three-hour trip along the Trent and Mersey Canal, whilst the guests wined and dined, the Margaret lazily sailed along the canal. An excellent start to the 2002-2003 programme!
