• Minutes
  • First part of accounts actions in place – last part not done yet. University of Manchester says we have not paid yet, but we have.

  • Correction - IMS home page should point at GSE UK IMS home page.
    • Action- Pete Sadler

  • Steering Committee member should present at CICS meeting and vice versa – secretary of CICS works at Barclays.
    • Action- Frank to contact

• 1998 Committee members
  • Can everybody continue? Should Ian step down from DBCTL? Ian can carry on if people feed info to him.

  • IMS 4.1 goes out of support this month, so people have to move to DBCTL. Hence Ian and Neil should confer on DBCTL agenda. See below for further DBCTL items.

• Accounts
  • Dougie has unfortunately been suffering from the PC hard-disk broken syndrome, and everything has to be typed in again!

• DBCTL sub-group
  • At the South Bank meeting, 6 people were expected and 15 turned up. What should we do next year? Should continue – most members are from north of Watford. Lifetime of sub-group probably till end of ’99. Get Liz Carver involved for talk on moving versions.

    • Action- Frank to draft note to DBCTL people (and forward to Andrew for distribution)
    • Action– Ian to call Duncan at Liverpool and Victoria re exit use.

  • Dicsussion led to view that "Full Function" meetings should be run twice per year.

• Working Group Objectives
  • Discussion on whether we should simply put the minutes up on the Web and stop sending them out (currently 141 copies). Idea is that you have to provide a positive response to get a copy of the minutes.
    • Action- Frank to raise at Working Group meeting tomorrow

  • We should advertise / publicise the group and the meetings during our travels.

  • Hints and tips page – should have a link back to the Working Group. Also put the objectives up there for people to see. Check the hints and tips for relevance to DBCTL and throw away old ones.
    • Action- Dougie

• Working Group Meetings
  • This year we had four meetings (one joint) and one DBCTL meeting. This was viewed as too many for next year. Therefore, decision to have 3 meetings (one joint) and one DBCTL meeting. IMS/DB2 Technical Conference is in Paris week of 12^th April.

    • Dates:	Friday 9th April - South Bank
      	Thursday 1st July - Manchester (Joint meeting)
      	Thursday 28th October - South Bank
      	Thursday 4th March - Birmingham - DBCTL meeting

    • When are the CICS and DB2 meetings?
      • Action - Pete to organise room for 9^th April
      • Action- Frank and Peter to find out dates.

    (Peter has spoken to Derek Storkey: they only have one confirmed so far, which is 11th March 1999, NEC, Birmingham. Others will be June 1999 at South Bank, September 1999 at NEC, and December 1999 at South Bank and they plan to have them all in the second week of that month, probably on the Thursday).

  • We then spent a merry hour going through all the outstanding requirements, deciding whether they were available, to be retired or still alive.
