The TVCC runs introductory climbing courses 2 to 3 times a year. Based at a local climbing wall the course aims to introduce you to the climbing skills necessary to go away on club trips.
- Climbing movement and technique.
- Types and use of gear.
- Belaying.
- Climbing calls and procedures.
- Knots and ropework
- Abseiling.
The course ends with a trip to a climbing crag in the UK to use the skills learnt on a real climbing venue.
2009 Beginners Courses

| Summer Course | June 16th. June 23rd. June 30th. Saturday Day trip July 4th. |
| Autumn Course | September 8th. September 15th. September 22nd. Day trip on the weekend of Sept. 26th. |
Time: 6.15 p.m. till 8:15 (pick up from Teddington station at 6:00 if required)
Venue: Hampton School outdoor climbing wall, Hampton School, Hanworth Road, Hampton, Middlesex, TW12 3HD (in South West London, near Teddington). We have exclusive use of the wall and it is very suitable for beginners.
Each course is followed by a weekend day-trip to real rock.
