O'Sensei Morihei Ueshiba
Born in Tanabe Japan in 1883
In 1903 he commenced training in Ju Jutsu at the Kito Ryu Dojo under Tokusburo Tojawa, in 1912 He and his family moved to Hokkaido where he studied intensively with Grand Master of Daito Ryu Aiki Jutsu, Takeda Sokaku. Moving back to Tokyo in 1927 building the Kobukan Dojo he trained with Dr Jigoro Kano the founder of Judo.
In 1942 Morihei and his famly moved to Iwama to build a new Dojo the Aiki Shrine where he developed Aikido, The way of Harmony of the spirit.
