Sitting on the southern flank of the Welland Valley, East Farndon overlooks the Leicestershire town of Market Harborough, some two miles to the North East. Just inside the county of Northamptonshire, the village winds its way up the valley side in a rich English mixture of houses and cottages, some of patterned brick, others colour-washed. At the top of the hill, tower dominating the local skyline, sits the church of St John the Baptist. This is the heart of 'watershed country': whilst the Welland empties into the North Sea, just over the crest and a few miles to the south of the village can be found the headwaters of the River Avon, which eventually flows through Stratford-on-Avon to the river Severn and the Irish Sea. The city of Leicester is 15 miles to the north-west, with Northampton a similar distance to the south. Other nearby towns are Kettering and Corby, both about 11 miles away, to the south-east and east respectively.
The village is within the Daventry District of Northamptonshire.
