DISCOURSES OF EXHORTATION Introductory Note For this series of fifty Exhortations see DS iv (1960) col. 812. They were known to St Photios (Bibliotheca 196, PG 103:657-660). In Assemani they are in II/72f-186c. In their present form they are certainly not authentic. There is some internal evidence that they are Egyptian in origin. In the notes O = Thwaitess edition (Oxford 1709), R = Assemanis (Rome 1743) and T = Phrantzolas (Thessaloniki 1990). |
