Dear Friends,
AGM, 2006
You are most warmly invited to the Annual General Meeting in the Eurythmy Studio, Glasshouse College, Wollaston Road, on Monday, 22nd May, 2006 . Our lively students _- who come from Venezuela, Spain, Brazil, U.S.A., Taiwan, Japan, Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium, Bristol, Nottingham, and, yes! Stourbridge - will speak about some of their work and activities. We shall share plans and visions of the future - soon we are likely to be bursting at the seams!
Recently we were fortunately blessed by visits from extraordinary masters in their fields. Göran and Charlotte Krantz from Yärna, Sweden, brought a thoroughly exciting programme featuring Messiaen, and Göran spoke of the latest music research in Sweden - to which he contributes - on the necessity of art for a healthy social life. Why should we in the UK be behind the times? Val Taylor shared for a whole week her unique approach in actively exploring muscles and bones with the students. For the regular Foundation Year in Anthroposophy through the Arts on Fridays, Deborah Ravetz and Dio Mock explored the visual arts, and Richard Ramsbotham took us through English literature - unforgettable experiences for all participants.
At last we have managed to start collaborating with our colleagues in Camphill Eurythmy School, Botton. Jonathan Reid with his second-year students joined ours in preparing for the student meeting in the Goetheanum, preceding the Easter world-conference Eurythmy in the Stream of Time - the students even appear on the big stage with others in one contribution before a lecture.
The stage-group renewed its contact with Sunfield as part of their 75-years celebrations which included a reunion of ex-students. The Flower-Queen's Daughter was performed for the last time. A new 5th-year student from The Hague joins the stage-group in a new fairy-tale now being rehearsed for Midsummer Day, 24th June, 3.00 pm in the Glasshouse Studio-Theatre. After the short Mozart celebration this year, we look forward to the Schumann celebrations; a eurythmy programme is being rehearsed for an autumn performance (date to be announced).
The students' end-of-term performance on 7th July, 7.30 pm takes place this year again in Sunfield, Clent (not at the venue announced in the Glasshouse calendar!). Directions gladly send on request.
We are most grateful for the support from all the friends of eurythmy, not least from the Glasshouse, where we soon complete our sixth year! As we expand, we also hope to increase our activities in contributing more to the life of this unique centre.
With warm greetings from my colleagues and all the students,
Maren Stott
