This is the homepage of the South Thames (East) Public Health Medicine Specialist Registrars Training programme. This site is of interest only to doctors who are either already training on our scheme or who are thinking of applying to it. It contains some general information about PHM training in South Thames, including our fact pack about the region, and also some detail about training programme. Public Health Medicine in the UK NHSPublic Health medicine is the career choice of about 1% of UK Medical Graduates. Public Health Physicians in the UK mostly work as health advisors to a health authority or other body, or as academics in universities. Currently, the scheme is not open to people who are not medically qualified.

It is represented in South Thames (East) by the Faculty Advisor, Dr. Donal O'Sullivan who is based at Lambeth, Southwark & Lewisham Health Authority. Prospective Applicants should call either him or the Academic Advisor, Dr. Martin Gulliford at Guy's King's and St. Thomas' Medical Schools.
