This is the homepage of the South Thames (East) Public Health Medicine Specialist Registrars Training programme.  This site is of interest only to doctors who are either already training on our scheme or who are thinking of applying to it.  It contains some general information about PHM training in South Thames, including our fact pack about the region, and also some detail about training programme.  We experienced a crash at our web provider recently and are in the process of recovering from it.  Apologies for the thin content at the moment.

Public Health Medicine in the UK NHS

Public Health medicine is the career choice of about 1% of UK Medical Graduates.  Public Health Physicians in the UK mostly work as health advisors to a health authority or other body, or as academics in universities.  Currently, the scheme is not open to people who are not medically qualified.
