..::: 21.11.05 23:56 > Finally some winter paddling news!!!Just after the Scotland weekend, we have been blessed with some good rain and spate runs of the Usk and tributaries which looked more like the Zambezi!! We haven't been as lucky with rain the last 2 weeks but a little group manage to run the Irfon under sunny & warmish condition (yes and all of that in Wales!! must be a first!), a few photos here and another video here. Last weekend, another group decided to break the ice and paddle the Usk which turn out to be reasonably high (Fog, frost and no rain for a week didn't do it for me and meant there was no way I was going to get up!!) This season is off to a good start, let's hope the rain will carry on regularly! Dont forget the check out the rivertrip page and to come to the Dowty on thursday to find out what's happening at the weekend. Also.. Thursday 1st of December, Phil Carrivick will be presenting a talk & slideshow on the British Universities Kayaking Expedition to Kyrgyzstan this summer. Time: 8pm Beer and drinks will be available. |

..::: October > Safety Refresher / Scotland ExpeditionThen that bring us to October, and after a interesting and instructive safety refresher run by Jim Fry & Captain Jon Wright in Symonds Yat (some photos here) this was time for the annual CCC Scotland drinking expedition, what? oh yeah, kayaking too... Anyway, thanks to Gary for a great organisation (did I really use this word?!?) and for keeping everyone entertained with his paddling (swimming?) skills :) As usual, loads of epics stories which I am sure you will have already heard. Make sure you don't miss the next Newsletter for the full write up. A few photos can be found here and there is also two videos of the Orchy and Etive ("right click, save as" to download it to your computer). My first go at video editing so don't hesitate to comment / criticize... (by the way, no need to criticize my choice of line on Right Angle Fall...)

..::: 21.11.05 23h56 > Finally some news!!!!No news since June??? yes I know... a few reasons for that, firstly despite my constant claims that kayaking is a summer sport, it is not really the case in this country... and the summer has been pretty quiet! Except for a little group of CCC paddler who decided to check out my claims and found out that in Slovenia, kayaking IS a summer sport!! A selection of the 1000+ photos of what turn out to be an excellent trip on & off the river can be found here. Italy photos can be found here thanks to Stu. Then we are a little bit short of space on our server.. which means I had to temporary deleted some archives (WildWaterPlanet is gone until further notice). Hopefully everything will be sorted soon! The most important is that all recents stories / photos /videos are now online. |
