Defying tradition, I began playing flute as an adult. Beginning with a grant from a community theater in St. Paul, Minnesota, I started my flute lessons with Adele Loraine (Zeitlin) of the Minnesota Orchestra.

Jim's ensemble, Entr'amis (a chamber music group consisting of Flute, Viola, and Harp) was a finalist in the 1998 American Harp Society Chamber Artist Competition in Baton Rogue, Louisiana.

I also lead a woodwind quintet, and a Flute, Piano, Bass, & Drums jazz ensemble.

Performing several recitals a year, I particularly enjoy French music, and am constantly seeking out Debussy transcriptions.

When I travel for my work, (which is very frequently) I always try to contact people from the FLUTE list. I have met people from London, Paris, Northern California, Houston, and St. Louis. Its like meeting old friends for the first time... "not to mention
