SHAKIN' STEVENS & the Sunsets

1973 Denmark gigs

Shakin' Stevens left the school as fast as possible, but now he is playing for the people who stayed.

"Shakin' Stevens, British rock-idol rolling on 17. years on his 'rubberlegs'. On the Danish tour, he had a visit from 200 rockers from Copenhagen, they drove to the concert on their bikes to see the rock'n roller.
They where so pleased, that they have planned to do there own concert on the 6. of November."

Rock'n roll musicians have the same opportunity to music as jazz musicians: their music has always, and will always exist.
And Shakin' Stevens And the sunsets is no exception. At the moment they are touring - and for the first time in Denmark. Tonight they be a part of a rock festival in Gladsaxe.
Shakin Stevens and the Sunsets are six musicians, who are playing good together. Shakin Stevens himself playing, singing and rocking so well, that the British people have giving him the name "Rubberlegs"
The other members are: Michael Skudder, Robert Llewellyn, Ian Lawrence, Paul Barret and Tony Britnell, the last being saxophonist who for many years played in The Fortunes.

I got sacked because I want to lay down and play he says.

Shakin' Stevens, if he ever had had another name than Ryste (Shake) he have forgot it, he is the man behind the group. He has always been a "rock-brother".  He has never joined the longhaired beat-trend, and he has always had rock-hair.
Long hair is annoying he says.
The group are very popular among the universities and high schools youth.
Not one of the members have spent more time than necessary in the school.
They perform with a non-planned show.
We feel best when the crowd are with us, and when we play, are we pleased when the crowd are rocking with us.
