| Shaky performed in front of a staggering crowd estimated to be in the
region of 200,000, at the
Donauinselfest (Danube Festival) in Vienna, Austria. This is possibly the biggest free admission festival in Europe with 18 different
stages. Shaky arrived in Austria on June 18th and the following day made his first live performance in Vienna since 1994. A TV special broadcast about five minutes of Shaky footage. Shaky also had the concert audio recorded and some footage made in hope that a TV documentary will be made in the UK. Press reviews were positive, and I've heard that some photographs were also taken for use on the official Shaky website. The festival opened on June 19th and ran until June 22nd. Shaky was due on stage at 21:45 hrs on June19th. Others to perform at Donauinselfest included Bonnie Tyler, Billy Swan, Melanie C, and Shaggy. |
