Pop Idol

Saturday 6th December 2003

Congratulations to Michelle from Glasgow, who made it through to the last three of ITV's "Pop Idol" after she performed Shaky's "Merry Christmas Everyone".  Of the four Judges, Foxy said her two performances were amazing!  Nicki described her performance of  "Merry Christmas  Everyone" as awesome! and Simon Cowell just said "Bloody Fantastic". Pete Waterman was less impressed, but it was her second song "O Holy Night" which really blew them all away.

Shaky radio interview

Saturday 25th October 2003

A hour long Shakin' Stevens special was broadcast today (25th October) by Lars Påske on Danish radio.  Lars talked about Shaky's career from the early days with Sunsets through to the Elvis musical, and his hit records right up to the current concerts and recording sessions.  In the interview with Lars, Shaky explained in a little more depth about what happened with his latest recording contract, and gave this personal message for the fans Click Here.
Shaky also said that he is remixing some new songs with a top producer but wouldn't say who.

Shaky radio interview

Sunday 5th October 2003

Shaky made a guest appearance on Joe Brown's "Sunday Roast" program, BBC Radio Berkshire on Sunday 5th October.

Shakin' Stevens (or 'Shaky' as he is known to his friends) found time to chat about his new music, as well as sharing in the conversation about the recent death of Johnny Cash.

As you can tell from above, Shaky is still looking good, still very active in the music scene and certainly one of the coolest people we've had in the station.

June 2003

News Update

May 2003

I have received information from an official source close to Shaky saying that they know nothing about the 2004 Porsche Oldie Night in Stuttgart, Shaky is not in negotiations with the organisers as was mentioned on the official site www.porsche-oldie-night.de, and he has no plans to perform at the event.

Regarding the release of the 3 cd hits compilation set, it will definitely be called "Hits And More", not "All The Hits" as was stated on www.amazon.co.uk and the official release book.  The
catalogue number is also quote wrong and it won't be released on June 2nd 2003. It might possibly make an appearance around the middle of June.
