Please respect this site and come in through the front door.
If you feel like making a site for cdg karaoke then please do not steel links
unless you have our permission. Because of this we have disabled right click
And have removed the browser options from the download section.

We track all isp address into the site and on every page.
This is for our own statistical purposes and for competition uses.
Anyone misusing the site will not be granted access and there ISP address
will be banned. What we mean by misuse is
don't download our links from other sites.
Respect other uses in the guest boards so don't swear.
(It gets you know where).

Share and i will gladly give what i have..

Download load songs
Most songs are in our yahoo briefcases which causes some problems.
Click the download link to the song.
A new yahoo page will appear with a link pointing you to the songs
click this link and the page will now show all the songs.
Click on the song you wish to download.
Every now and again you may get an error message.
This is because yahoo is so busy it cant fulfill
you download request.
The best thing to do here is just click on the back button
on your browser, and try the song again.
Keep doing this until your download starts.
Depending on how busy they are it may take about
10 attempts before succeeding.

All files are in zip format and have been virus checked
before uploading, However we have people who like
to contribute to this site, and upload files themselves.
You can tell if someone else has uploaded a file as we give
all credit to that person for uploading.
Please virus scan these files when downloaded.

We hope you like the new look and hope to supply all of your future requests.

News

New songs and new uploaded songs are now active in the downloads section.

We have added more tool's to the tools section and a NEW problems page.
The problems page will answer most of your queries, whether it be downloading problems,
Trouble ripping a disc or burning a disc. Ect.

We have now had over 57,000 visits to the site in such a short time, we offering
1,000 karaoke song's to our 100th thousand visitor.
We are currently getting around 1,000+ visits per day, so it shouldn't be to long.
Your ISP address will be published to notify the winner. so it is important to enter the site
from the main page www.freekaraoke.co.uk and not from any other book marked page.

Make A CD+G Disc

You must not make discs unless you currently own the original. This is for back up use only.

Before you start thinking of making your disc you must first make sure your cdrom or cdwriter is compatible.
If you do not own one of these then you will need to spend some cash. Your looking at around £150
Alternatively you can contact me with your requests and i will make you a cd for a £10
BUT YOU MUST AGREE TO OWNING THE ORIGINAL

For absolute best results we recommend you only write at the minimum speed
Though saying this i only write cdg discs at 4 x speed with no problems.

You will need the following tools
CDR WIN
MMWAVE 2K
RAWCDG2B
These tools can be found in the tools section.
First make a folder on your c drive and call it rawcdg2b
Make sure that the program rawcdg2b.exeis in this folder.
If you have not already downloaded it, do it now.
Now put the mp3 & cdg files in here as well.
Run mmwave2k and click on the configuration settings.second icon from the right. You need to change the output directory to the folder we just made (rawcdg2b) Click ok
Now click the decoder tab.
The output raw needs to be checked.
Change it if it is not.& Click ok.
In the top left hand window you will see all your file's
e need to select the folder we created (rawcdg2b) which is on your
C drive, So find it and click on the folder.
The mp3's if more than one will appear in the box immediately under.
Double click the one's to convert ready to put on disc
you will now see they have moved over to the large window on the right.
Now at the top you will see the icons lined up.
Click the icon decode job list. This is next to the wav 2 raw icon.
This will now convert the mp3's to raw.
Close down mmwave 2k.
In your folder rawcdg2b you will now see the raw file we have just created.
Drag the raw file over rawcdg2b.exe and drop,
Just use the mouse to drag and drop.
A dos box will appear and will now create the bin file.
At the top of the dos box it will say finished when it has completed the file conversion.
When it says this just close the box and do the rest,
By just using drag and drop.
The bin file we have just created is what we need
to burn to disc, So you can now delete everything else other than the .bin files.
Open cdrwin.
Select record disc. Then Click load tracks located on the right.
At the top you have audio and cd+g . Make sure cd+g is checked.
lick on the add button and select the bin files you have just created in the rawcdgb folder.
Repeat until you have all the tracks you want recording. and click ok
This will now make what is called a Que. sheet.
REMEMBER to turn the speed down as it is always defaulted to max. Click start recording.
Whalah you have just created a disc.
Now say thank you by signing the guest book.

..How Convert My Discs To CDG/MP3 To Share..

This 'how to' will tell you what you will have to do to convert discs to run on PC
Things you will need:
WinCDG
MMWave2K
Mimic
CDRWin (I use 3.8d at the moment)
All Tools are download able from the tools section.
Yamaha (or compatible CD+G reader/writer)

WinAmp (I use 2.72 at the moment)
if you use this program to convert .WAV files to MP3 you will need a convertor
plugin. If you do not use this, get some other program like Wav2MP3.

Make a folder on the C: drive called Rawcdg2b
Copy the file rawcdg2b.exe into this directory as you'll need this later.
Make another folder on the C: drive called Karaoke
Make the following folders within this one called: BIN CDG WAV MP3
Now you are ready to start the actual conversion

Creating the BIN files...

1. Place the disc you're going to convert in your reader/writer
(this has to be CDG compatible)
2. Start CDRWin and click on the Extract Disc/Tracks/Sectors button.
3. You will see the amount of tracks on the disc on the left side,
check the box Select Tracks (at the top).
4. Select CD+G (in the Reading Options).
5. Also click the button Select All (in the Track selection Area)
then check the box name Files Sequentially.
Also make sure the File Format is set to Automatic

6. Click the ... button next to Image Filename and browse
to C:\Karaoke\BIN and type in Track
(therefore when you create the separate BIN files they will be
called Track01, Track02 etc...
7. Now press Start.
Go make yourself a cuppa, this will take a short while.

Creating the WAV files...

Do steps 1 to 4 as above

5. Also click the button Select All (in the Track selection Area)
then check the box name Files Sequentially.
Also make sure the File Format is set to WAVE
6. Click the ... button next to Image Filename and browse to
C:\Karaoke\WAV and type in Track
therefore when you create the separate WAV files
they will be called Track01, Track02 etc...
7. Now press Start.
Go make yourself another cuppa, this will also take a short while.

Creating the CDG files...

1. Start WinCDG and click on the Menu icon (top left)
Then choose CDG Utilities.
2. This is defaulted to Extract CDG from BIN files.
Click the ... button and select the Track01.BIN and press Convert.

3. Do the same for the rest of the tracks.
Browse the C:\Karaoke\BIN directory and move the
CDG files to the correct C:\Karaoke\CDG directory.

Creating the MP3 files...

1. Start WinAmp and click on the Menu icon (top left)
Then choose Options, Preferences and choose the MP3
Output plugin.
2. Click on Configure button and Select the MP3 directory
to convert to.
3. The Format has to be MPEG Layer 3
and Attributes need to be set to
128 kBit/s and 44,100 Hz Stereo at 16KB/s
4. Then click Save As: Track
this will then name the tracks as: 01_track01_wav.mp3
you will need to rename these as track01.mp3,
track02.mp3 etc Then click Close.
5. Click Add and then Add Dir and browse to
C:\Karaoke\WAV directory and WinAmp will find all
Track01, Track02 etc files.

6. Click the Play Icon and sit back and wait for it to convert
the files into MP3 files.
(Remember to rename those files!).
Note: If you now put the CDG and the MP3 files into the
same directory you will be able to play the Karaoke
tracks using WinCDG.
If you want to rename these files to the song title and artist
or just song title, please be aware that if you want to convert
them back to CD+G discs, you must NOT use Hypens,
Apostrophes etc. This is because rawcdg2b.exe runs in DOS
and cannot use the extended character set.
Phew! That's all sorted now.

How Do I Play CDG Karaoke On My Pc

First you need to download some software to enable you to do this.
You Need
MIMIC
WINCDG
And the latest vertion of Windows media player 6.0+

Mimic is a great little mp3 player, and has little to do
with what we want to do. But we advise you to download
and install this as it contains important VB6 Runtime Files Your
System needs. WITH additional OCX files.

WinCDG is the main program that play's CDG Karaoke.
We have been given written permission from Steve Gray
To enable us to put up both files.
Please note that Wincdg is only a demo version and to
get full use of its powers we recommend you to buy the full
product. There are also updates available. The latest being ver. 2

All software downloads are in the tools section.

Just simply install all the programs and then download a song.
Unzip the song and click on the CDG file.
If wincdg does not start then start it yourself and add the
file to it that you have just downloaded.
Click play and Hey Hey Where Away.

How Do I Play Karaoke Discs On My Pc

There are now a few software players coming out on the
market that will play cdg discs directly from your drive.
Again you must make sure you have a drive that supports cdg.

While i may go on and brag a lot about WinCDG. I done find
this program the best for playing Karaoke cdg directly from disc.
The only program that does this well is by CAVS.
And there pro version is even better.

If you haven't already downloaded it, then get it from the
tools section with all the other Players & Apps .

Other Essential Tools
You Will Need.

Mimic
We advise everyone to download this mp3 player to support
wincdg. Mimic has important runtime and other files in it that
Wincdg needs to run properly.

Windows Media Player Version 6+
In order for wincdg to work correctly we also recommend you
to download the latest version of windows media player.
if your version is 6.+ then you don't need to bother.

Mmwave 2k
You will need this nice utility to convert your mp3 - raw
ready for when you want to burn your own karaoke discs.
For more on how to use this, please read the how to faq's
on how to make a cdg disc.

Rawcdg2B
To covert your Raw files and Cdg files to bin ready for burning
to disc, You will need this.

WinZip
To unzip all our files on the site you will
need to get this.

Play CDG From CAVS

I reckon this program could have been the mother of all.
But instead of smooth scrolling its a bit blocky.
Having saying this, It does play cdg discs better than WinCDG.
This player does not support our download able CDG format songs
as it uses it's own format .mcg. This player is only free for 7 days.
What you can do though is, Rip your cd's with this player and it
will convert it to mcg. And you can download Mcg songs from
there web site as well at www.cavsusa.com They cost $1.99 Each.

WinCDG From

I can argue black and blue about what cdg player is the best.!
Well, in my opinion its here WinCDG by Tyrannosoft.
Try it for free and find out why.

Please note that the free download does not support reading
from Karaoke CDG Discs. Only CDG from Pc.
There pro versions however do, but seem too jiggurish.

For direct playback from a Karaoke CDG Disc, I recommend
Cavs CDG also download able from the tools section.

Q. What is the best speed for burning a cdg disc.?
A. The best speed is X 2 but i burn at 4 X with no problems at all.

Q. I can't convert my cdg's to bin using CDG2BIN what am i doing wrong.?
A. Don't open cdg2bin.exe Just drag the cdg over the cdg2bin.exe file and let go. Make sure you have the RAW & the CDG file in the same directory as the cdg2bin.exe On the top of the dos window that opens wait until it says file converted successfully. "This may take about 40 seconds"

Q. I get an error in Wincdr 3.8 when i try to burn a cdg disc what's happening.
A. The bin file you are burning proberly did not complete read above.

Q. How do I know if i have a compatible cdr/cdrw
A. Download WinCDG disc checker from the tools section. Play a cd, if it plays then you know.
If you don't have a cdg disc then check www.goldenhawk.com for compatible players.

Q. I get an error when downloading from your site. Are the links dead.?
A. I hope not i check the links regularly, If it is from Yahoo The error you are most likely to get is server to busy or something similar. Just click on the back button on your browser and try again. Depending on how busy the server is, This may take several attempts, But im sure you can wait a few minutes.

Q. When i burn my discs the graphics are all out of sync why?.
A. Most likely you downloaded a file from another site, And they skimped on the quality so could make the file size smaller for uploading and downloading. Unfortunately when burning a cdg disc you must make sure the bit rate is 128 and 44herts (CD Quality) if you do not then you get the out of sync problem as you described.

Q. Can i convert a lower quality mp3 to the cd quality as mentioned.?
A. Yes using music match or MMwave2K (music match is much better) Although when converting you may lose more quality and the problem may not be solved as off this.

Q. Are we or you breaking the law.?
A. Trust You. LOL Well lets put it like this karaoke mp3 music is not recorded by an original artist, they are re-recorded by barely novice singers the way some sound. Secondly if the lyrics were copyrighted then there would be no lyrics sites out there. So i very much doubt it. On top of all that we upload homemade cdg's as well.
With regards to what i do, well i offer a backup service for all who want it...

A. You wouldn't want too WOULD YOU...??

Q. How do i make video karaoke into CDG or visa versa.?
A. Karaoke to CDG you Can't. CDG to Video how much time do you have.?
first you would need a video screen capturing program, Then capture the screen i.e. video
Do the same with the audio and rip it to mp3. Stick the two together as a .Mov and there you go.
Bear in mind you will need a good gig of space just to convert one.
