Autodial
No. 109, sales name Trent, offers the same facilities as (Tyne),
plus several other benefits listed below:-
- On hook dialling with monitor loudspeaker to keep the caller informed of call progress.
- LED display showing the number called, automatically changing to a call timer once the
handset is lifted and the call begins.
- 24 hour clock when the unit is not in use. Time and date.
The following are minor differences compared to Tyne:-
The MF4/LD slide switch is between the two PCB's, but is placed along the side of the
unit.
To make an outgoing call, the required address memory button is pressed and the built in
loudspeaker monitors the progress of the call. The telephone handset must be lifted once
the called party answers. The volume of the monitor amplifier / loudspeaker is adjustable
by a three position switch on the back of the unit.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
When originally introduced in 1983, it was considered the main use of the autodiallers
would be as an attachment to PABX extensions. For this reason, the user guide in all cases
refers to the autodiallers as having 18 store memories and not 20. The reason for
marketing in this manner, was that after the customer has entered the PABX access digit
and Pause, they then have 18 usable digits to programme into any memory store.
There is a backup battery which will keep the stored memory for about 72
hours. The LCD dispaly will only operate with the mains transformer
switched on.
A unit that displays the symptoms of sending wrong numbers and unable to program is
usually caused by a faulty battery.
USER INSTRUCTIONS
TRENT
To Set the Time and Date:-
Storing a number:-
Note:- That unless Trent is set for MF4 signalling by an engineer at installation, the *
and # buttons have no function. There is no soft switching from LD to MF4 by pressing the
* button as with most modern equipment.
To call a stored number:-
If at any time before the handset is lifted you wish to cancel the call, press the CAN
button, this will release the call.
Should you wish to switch back to the monitor during a call, press and keep pressed the
MON button until the telephone handset is replaced. You can switch between the monitor
speaker and handset as often as you like during a call, including incoming calls or calls
dialled from the telephone.
Certain types of PABX do not signal the public exchange dial tone, e.g. Monarch 120. In
this case when storing numbers, do not programme a pause after the access digit. The
continue (CON) button, if pressed will allow the callmaker to continue dialling in the
absence of continuous dial tone.
Reprogramming:-
Reprogramming an address store automatically over writes the previous number. To clear a
store, press and keep pressed the STO button, select and press the required address button
then release the STO button.
