Forest Savers Fund

A not for profit savings and loan scheme, that operates in the Forest of Dean area, for those who live or work here.

With facilities for paying into your account located in Coleford, Lydney, Newent and Cinderford, saving is easy.  You can also save by posting a cheque to the office or by setting up a regular Standing Order.  Each member has a payment card, so you can see at a glance what you have saved.

To ensure that your money is safeguarded, the Forest Savers Fund is a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme established under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000.  The scheme provides compensation of 100% for the first £35,000 of savings.  We are regulated by the Financial Services Authority and covered by the Financial Ombudsman Service.

All applications for loans are scrutinised by a loans committee and members who borrow must prove that they have the capacity to repay the loan within the agreed timescales.  Forest Savers Fund always take legal action against those who default on repayment.
