Hildas Family Scrabble is written in 100% pure JAVA,
the program is in a compressed JAR format
( 98 kbs in length ).
The object of the game is to beat the computer or other players.
Before playing you must choose the amount of players in the game.
You can choose the computer to play for any or all players.
Be careful to read set up start screen.
You need only to set up the start screen once, then when
the game is finished click the screen and chooose same players option.
Use the tiles on the top left to enter your name,
then click DONE or CLEAR
if you have made a mistake.
You can click or drag the Speed Slider if the game is to slow or to fast.
( Speed Slider is located on the right edge of scrabble board ).
Move the mouse pointer to the right edge of scrabble board
and the speed slider will appear.
Plus clicking on PAUSE to pause,
or QUIT to end.
There is roughly 18000 words that the computer can choose from.
To move a tile just move the mouse pointer on your chosen tile
and hold down to mouse button and drag the tile to the square
of your choice.
When you have placed you tile or tiles click PLACE to find out
your score, if your are happy with your score click DONE.
If your are not happy with your score you can drag a tile to
another square or click CANCEL.
When you click PLACE and the tiles turn red then your tiles are
incorrectly place, remember if you go first you must cover the
middle square.
You can choose to CHANGE your tiles or a tile by
clicking CHANGE,
or if the bag tile is empty you can PASS.
If you PASS you will miss your go.
You can click JUGGLE to rearrange you tiles,
or if there is an empty space in the rack you can drag a tile to that space.
Hildas Family Scrabble takes roughly 30 seconds to 1 minute
to open the
Applet, there is no OUTSIDE information needed, so after you have
started the applet you can player and re-player again and again ( off-line it's cheaper ).
( The applet background colour square will show when applet is opening. ).
