Historical items for sale

As this museum is one of the few, privately owned in France, Mr.Davies does not get a grant or subsidy from the French Government to maintain the Museum, but relies on the funds raised from Donations and admission fees, towards it's upkeep...
He has a huge list of Military items for sale, ranging from belt buckels to Bren guns and MG 42's to a 20mm, Flak 38! a similar example can be seen in "Saving Private Ryan'.

Occasionally however, Mr.Davies will sell unusual items from his extensive collection to finance repairs or alterations to the Museum, an example of this occured on our second visit, in November. The exposed steel 'hooks' on the roof of the Bunker, used to attach the camoflage nets in the War, had rusted and expanded, cracking and loosening the concrete on the edge of the curve of the roof. This had to be secured and stabilised to prevent it falling off.

Here is a Hand operated ventilation pump, used in case of generator failure, to pump fresh air into the bunker.
Two pictures of an original, coal fired, cast-iron stove used for heating the bunker crew's quarters.
( I would Love this in my living room but, my Fiancee would have a 'fit' ! )

This six barrelled mortar was used in the defense of a local Luftwaffe airfield!

Here is a picture of a "Batterie Todt" ring sent to me by Ed Greenwell from Eustis,Florida.
His girlfriend's father (now passed away),was in the Canadian,North Nova Scotia Highlanders.
It was amongst the souvenirs brought back from Europe. We are trying to find out more details of the ring from Mr Davies!

This is from the nose of an 88mm FlaK shell, a 30 second, spring-wound time fuse
which I purchased from the Museum for F220, complete with bakelite case and end cap.

Or, for £1200......You could own a piece of HISTORY !

A "C34" shell case from the museum, from the very same guns as fitted to the "Bismark" and "Tirpitz".
Obviously, only a limited number available !

WANTED !

As well as old photos or memorobilia of Batterie Todt,Mr.Davies is searching for old postcards of the Hotel "Normandy",and has asked me to search for more postcards, via the 'Net.
His Son has recently been given a postcard from 1932, sent by Mr Davies's Father!
