Technology transfer from the track to the street took another leap forward with
the introduction of the 1999 Viper ACR (American Club Racer) package. The Viper
ACR is aimed directly at enthusiasts who want to use their Viper in amateur or
semi-professional racing events. The car contains suspension and powertrain
refinements derived directly from the race car, including the 460 horsepower
race-bred engine, five-point safety harnesses, competition Koni shocks and
Meritor springs.

The advent of the ACR package is merely the latest example of ways in which
Daimler Chrysler improves its people, development processes and showroom
products as a benefit of racing. From the boulevard to the pit lane, the Dodge
Viper has achieved international recognition as a powerful automotive statement.
In the GT Racing season Vipers are being used more and more. Some big names are
using the vipers as there cars one of them is Paul Belmondo. They are being used
in the FIA GT Championship, American La-mans series, British GT Championship,
they also race in some less known motorsports.
